Sasanidsko carstvo je carstvo kojim je vladala moćna sasanidska loza kraljeva koji su vladali starom Perzijom, zahvatajući cijeli današnji Iran, tokom ere drugog Perzijskog carstva, od 224-651. Posljednji sasanidski šah, Jazdegerd III, izgubio je četrnaestogodišnju borbu s Umajadskim kalifatom, prvim islamskim, tj. arapskim carstvom. Osim teritorije današnjeg Irana, Sasanidi su vladali zemljom koja je ohuhvatala dijelove današnjeg Iraka, Armenije, Afganistana, i Turske.
