Object history Da sich die Gemeinde Ottendorf a.d.R. aus vier Teilen zusammensetzt, sollte dies im Wappen ausgedrückt werden. Die heraldische Form hierfür ist die sogenannte Vierung, wobei der Wappenschild durch waagrechte Teilung und senkrechte Spaltung in vier Felder zerlegt wird, die aber aneinander geschoben ein Ganzes bilden, so die Einheit der Gemeinde veranschaulichend. Betont werden die vier Katastralgemeinden durch vier Kleeblätter. Diese wurden im Hinblick auf die geschichtliche Vergangenheit gewählt.
