Proteopedia

Proteopedia je wiki, 3D enciklopedija proteina i drugih molekula.^[1]^[2]^[3]^[4] Stranica sadrži stranicu za svaki unos u Protein Data Bank (>130.000 stranica), kao i stranice koje su više opisne strukture proteina općenito, kao što su acetilholinesteraza,^[5] hemoglobin,^[6] i fotosistem II ^[7] sa Jmol prikazom koji ističe funkcionalna mjesta i ligande . Koristi alat za autorstvo scena tako da korisnici ne moraju da uče JSmol skriptni jezik za kreiranje prilagođenih molekularnih scena. Prilagođene scene se lako pričvršćuju na "zelene veze" u opisnom tekstu koji prikazuje te scene u JSmolu. Web pretraživač je sve što je potrebno za pristup sajtu i 3D informacijama; nije potrebno instalirati preglednike.

Proteopedia je dobitnik nagrade za najbolju web stranicu časopisa The Scientist 2010. godine. ^[8]

Sav sadržaj koji dodaju korisnici je besplatan i pokriven je GNU licencom za slobodnu dokumentaciju . Proteopedia se nalazi u Izraelskom centru za strukturnu proteomiku ^[9] na Weizmann institutu za nauku.
