Village of Jelovka was independent settlement till 1921, and then became hamlet of the settlement of Krasica. It is part of Krasica village today. So it could be part of the story about Krasica. Which i can tell is number of population in the village by the censuses from 1857-1921. and also i can try to find linguistic and religious composition of ppulation which i think is 100% serbo-croatian langauge and 100% of roman catholics which means Croatian. Yeah, i found in 1910 census, it had population of 146 and it is as i said 100% of population speak croatian or serbian language and 100% of population is of Roman catholic religion. It was then part of municipality of Krasica together with settlements: Koritnjak, Krasica, Ostrovice and Višnjevica , in Krasica administrative unit of Sušak subcounty of the County or Županija of Modruš-Fiume in that time Croatia-Slavonia in kingdom of Hungary. Population by censuses was like this: in 1857 - pop. of 154, in 1869 - 220, in 1880. - 179, in 1890. - 174, in 1900. - 179, in 1910. - 146, in 1921. - 182, in 1931. and 1948. there is no data, in 1953. - 111, in 1961. - 147, in 1971. - 31, and there is no data fo the years 1981. and 1991. Jelovka

I had no hope that you would answer me, I am very happy and grateful to you. My great-great-grandfather was born on November 11, 1868. Any information you can provide would be very much appreciated. I would love to know if there are photos of that village. I would also like to know what happened to the inhabitants of that village when the First World War began. I think I'll go to visit Bakar, I'm very curious. If you have a link where I can donate some money, pass it to me. Thanks again for everything

I'll tell you more details. My great-great-grandfather got married in Uruguay in 1905 and had a son in 1906. In the marriage certificate he says that the profession was "mariner." From what port did the overseas ships depart? The bad news is that he left Uruguay, so I guess he returned to his village, shortly after, in 1914, the First World War began. Do you think he participated? Previously you mentioned that it was an "independent" village, does that mean it was not part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire? In addition, in the marriage certificate says "buccari" (I think it is said in Italian). Did he really speak Croatian or several languages? Finally, are you from Bakar?
