Holothele je rod porodice Theraphosidae, red Araneae, razred Arachnida, koljeno Arthropoda. Prvi ga je opisao Ferdinand Anton Franz Karsch, 1879.[3]
Izvorno je smješten u porodicu Dipluridae, mrežasti pauci, a u Theraphosidae premješten je 1980.[4]

Marta 2020., rod je imao pet vrsta, nađenih i zapadnim Karibima i sjevernom dijelu Južne Amerike:[5]

- Holothele longipes (L. Koch, 1875) (tipska vrsta) – Panama, Venecuela, Bolivija, Trinidad i Tobago, Gvajana, Surinam, Francuska Gvajana, Brazil
- Holothele shoemakeri (Petrunkevitch, 1926) – US Virgin Islands (St. Thomas)
- Holothele sulfurensis Maréchal, 2005 – Guadeloupe
