Nagrada Booker, ranije nazvana Bookerova nagrada za fikciju (1969–2001) i Nagrada Man Booker (2002–2019), jedna je od najprestižnijih književnih nagrada u svijetu, koja se dodjeljuje svake godine za najbolje pojedinačno djelo kontinuirane fikcije napisano na engleskom jeziku, koje je objavljeno u Ujedinjenom Kraljevstvu i/ili Irskoj. Dobitnik Bookerove nagrade dobija 50.000 funti, kao i međunarodni publicitet koji obično dovodi do značajnog povećanja prodaje.[1] Kada je nagrada stvorena, samo su romani koje su napisali građani Commonwealtha, Irske i Južnoafričke Republike (a kasnije i Zimbabvea) imali pravo na natjecanje; ali je to 2014 prošireno na bilo koji roman na engleskom jeziku – promjena koja se pokazala kontroverznom.[2][3]

Komisija od pet članova koju čine autori, izdavači i novinari, kao i političari, glumci, umjetnici i muzičari,[4] svake godine imenuje Fondacija Nagrade Booker za odabir pobjedničke knjige.[5][6] Od 2015 izvršni direktor Fondacije je Gaby Wood.[7][8][9]

Književna nagrada visokog profila u britanskoj kulturi, Bookerova nagrada se dočekuje s iščekivanjem i pompom širom svijeta.[10] Književni kritičari napominju da je znak razlikovanja da autori budu izabrani za ulazak u uži izbor ili da budu nominovani za "širu listu".[1]

Sestrinska nagrada, Međunarodna Bookerova nagrada, dodjeljuje se za beletristično djelo prevedeno na engleski i objavljeno u Ujedinjenom Kraljevstvu ili Irskoj. Za razliku od Bookerove nagrade, zbirke kratkih priča su kvalifikovane za Međunarodnu Bookerovu nagradu. Novčana nagrada od 50.000 funti ravnomjerno je podijeljena između autora i prevodioca pobjedničkog romana.[11]
