Interferonski alfa-inducibilni protein 27 je protein koji je kod ljudi kodiran genom IFI27.[3][4]

Rasmussen et al. (1993) mapirali su gen IFI27 na hromosomu 14, pozicija q32, putem izotopne hibridizscije in situ.[5]

Kloniranje i ekspresija[uredi | uredi izvor]

Rasmussen et al. (1993) izolirali su novu cDNK, koju su nazvali p27, iz ćelija karcinoma dojke tretirane estradiolom. Kodirao je navodni visoko hidrofobni protein od 122 aminokiseline, koji je imao ukupnu sličnost 33% sekvence s proizvodom interferonski induciranog proteina IFI-6-16 (IFI616). Potonji gen transkripcijski induciraju interferoni alfa i beta tipa. Pokazali su da gen IFI27 također indukuje interferon-alfa u ljudskim ćelijskim linijama različitog porijekla i da je ekspresija neovisna o prisustvu estradiolnog receptora u ćelijama.

Dužina polipeptidnog lanca je 119 aminokiselina, a molekulska težina 11.268 Da.[6].
