Homolog etopozid-induciranog proteina 2.4 je protein koji je kod ljudi kodiran genom EI24 .[5] [6] [7]
Ovaj gen ima veću ekspresiju u ćelijama koje eksprimiraju p53 , nego u kontrolnim ćelijama i sada je i rana meta indukcije p53 posredovane apoptoze . Protein kodiran ovim genom sadrži šest pretpostavljenih transmembranskih domena i može potisnuti rast ćelija induciranjem apoptotske ćelijske smrti putem kaspaze 9 i mitohondrijskog puta. Ovaj gen se nalazi na ljudsko hromosomu 11, sekvenca q24 , regiji koja se često mijenja u karcinomi . Alternativna prerada RNK|Alternativna prerada rezultira u dvije varijante transkripta koje kodiraju različite izoforme .[7]
Dužina polipeptidnog lanca je 340 aminokiselina , a molekulska težina 38.965 Da .[8]
