Folitropinska podjedinica beta ili beta podjedinica folitropina, poznata i kao beta podjedinica folikulostimulirajućeg hormona (FSH-B) je protein kojeg kod ljudi kodira gen FSHB.[1][2][3] Alternativna prerada iRNK rezultira u dvije varijante transkripta koje kodiraju isti protein.

Funkcija[uredi | uredi izvor]

Porodica hipofiznog glikoproteina uključuje folikulostimulirajući hormon, luteinizirajući hormon, horionski gonadotropin i tiroid- stimulirajući homon. Svi ovi glikoproteini sastoje se od identične alfa i beta podjedinice specifične za hormon. Ovaj gen kodira beta podjedinicu folikulostimulirajućeg hormona. U kombinaciji s luteinizirajućim hormonom, folikulostimulirajući hormon podstiče stvaranje jajnih ćelija i sperme.[3]
